to Hatter's Cabinet Main Page

To stack stones

To build a betel

To raise a column

an obelisk at the mouth of the sea

a pole carried upon twelve shoulders

at each changing of the seasons

To set a wheel to spin upon a point

To dig a well to ancient waters and very deeply

To paint a depthless cave

To exhume the stone of the gods

To erect a throne

To fix a bed upon unwavering posts

To pluck mistletoe from the highest oak

To seek a crossroads

To build a mound

a barrow

a ziggurat

sarcens and lintels

naked bodies, hand in hand, circling, circling

To erect a shrine

a temple

a cathedral

To set an altar

an ark

a reliquary

To breach the sanctum sanctorum

To raise a new Jerusalem

To touch heaven to hell

To create out of moon words galaxies spiraling within galaxies

To slay a dragon and make a cosmos

And deep within the night, high upon the mountain,

an eerie glow within the wood,

the sounds of the ecstatic,

lightning at dance, above,

and a dark, scarlet line leading, below.
